Heini Tallent OSSM (Dip), MISRM
I opened my practice in 2008 after getting my sports massage diploma from Oxford School of Sports Massage (previously Pulse Training Solutions), affiliated to the highly regarded London School of Sports Massage. I had previously studied Swedish massage, anatomy and physiology and qualified as an ITEC-certified massage therapist in 2005. In the last couple of years I have also qualified as a pregnancy massage practitioner and a baby massage instructor (see below for all my qualifications and training).
My interest in massage therapy stems from my own experiences, and I make a point of offering my clients only therapies that I have personally tried, liked and experienced the benefits of. I first got into massage through my interest in sports and a fascination with anatomy and physiology - how the human body works. I have competed on a regional level in basketball, athletics and hockey as well as training in various other sports, and over the years sports massage has helped me recover from a number of sprains, strains and other minor injuries.
In terms of remedial massage, I have suffered from my fair share of back and shoulder pain during the years I spent working as a copywriter and editor in a busy office, and I have found massage to be very effective in reducing stress and treating chronic niggles and aches. On-site seated massage is just perfect for this purpose - not to mention its other benefits. And as for pregnancy and baby massage, I was introduced to both during my own pregnancy and after having my son in 2010. Regular treatments during pregnancy sorted out any aches and gave me a much-needed opportunity for total relaxation, and baby massage is something I still practice at home and something my son still enjoys, even though he's an active toddler now. I really believe in the therapies I offer, and I know for certain that they work.
In addition to my professional qualifications, I hold a valid first aid certificate. I am also a full member of the Institute of Sport and Remedial Massage. Members of this association are guaranteed to have an advanced professional qualification from an accredited school as well as undergoing regular professional training to further their knowledge, giving you peace of mind and trust in their skills and expertise.
